A peaceful mountain retreat surrounded by Fynbos, Protea and breathtaking views. This fully equipped stone built, thatched roof cottage is situated on the Groot Toren 4 x 4 trail and sleeps 4.

This One and Only, mountain cottage is a fully equipped self-catering cottage with an inside braai, sleeps 4 people and is situated on the 4 x 4 trail.

Solar panel provides energy for the lights at night. A gas geyser for hot water in the shower and kitchen.

Klipspringer is a breakaway to tranquility, peace and silence of nature. Specially for those families or couples with a busy lifestyle and never find time to do nothing.

Klipspringer is highly recommended for couples ....'a romantic heavenly experience.'

Surrounded by 10 000ha Kingdom of Fynbos and Proteas. Stargazing nights, breathtaking sunrise and sunset and panoramic views.

One might be lucky and experience snow during winter!

Be on the lookout for Klipspringer and Grysbok, Black Eagles, Sunbirds restricted to the Western Cape only and the other official pollinators of fynbos, the spiny mouse and Verraux's mouse.

Things to do: Hiking, Cycling, 4x4, bird watching, stargazing or ..... enjoy doing nothing at all.

Groot Toren Nature Reserve 4 x 4 trail - well known for the scenery, protea and fynbos.


One of SA’s top ten eco 4 x 4 trails.

Only 2 hours from Cape Town. Groot Toren is situated 11km from McGregor on your way to Stormsvlei and Bonnievale. This is a 3 - 4 hour circular mountain trail of 25km. Rated 2- 3. (4 x4 vehicles only)

Receive a map, trail description and key to go on the trail. Safe to drive on your own. Follow the map with options to bypass the more challenging sections. Start doing the trail in the morning before 12h00.

A 10 000 ha Fynbos and Protea Kingdom with breathtaking panoramic views.

Enjoy a picnic at Bakenkop or Goudgat viewpoint at a height of 1000m above sea level, the official snow boarder line.

No fires are allowed.
