Situated just outside McGregor, immediately opposite the McGregor Winery, the Donkey Sanctuary is a registered welfare organisation.
The Donkey Sanctuary is open from Thursdays to Sundays, from 11h00 - 16h00. On Thursdays and Fridays you are requested to use our brochure and do a self-guided tour. On Saturdays and Sundays a guide is on duty
The vision of the Donkey Sanctuary is to provide abused, neglected and elderly donkeys with the opportunity to live out their lives with respect and dignity, surrounded by their own kind, in a protective and natural environment.
Visitors are most welcome. You need not make a booking to visit the sanctuary, nor do we have an entry charge. We do however appreciate your donations to support the work we do. Groups may visit by prior arrangement and payment of a nominal charge.
