Historic Buildings: Three of the buildings at Green Gables are Historic Monuments (circa 1862): the barn (which is used for accommodation), the min house (which is used as the restaurant and pub) and the Old Mill. The preserved watermill is a place of great interest to those wanting to get a glimpse of yesteryear's milling methods. Built in 1862 it represents great mechanical history.
Nature trails: One of McGregor's many peaceful walks through thriving Fynbos is a short walk away. Many varieties of otherwise elusive bird species make their homes in the area, which will be of interest to birdwatchers.
